Getting your first job on KidsHustle

Start with your profile

Job owners can see your name, your photo, your reviews and how many jobs you have completed. They cannot see your email, your location or any contact details. Before you apply for anything, put a clear photo up and write a short line about what you are good at.

Pick jobs you can actually do well

Your first few reviews matter more than anything else, because they are what a job owner reads before choosing between applicants. Start with something you are confident about and close to home.

  • Read the whole description before applying
  • Check the time works around school
  • Only apply if you can definitely turn up

Your parent approves it first

Every application goes to your parent or guardian before it is sent. That is not a hurdle, it is the reason job owners trust the platform enough to post here.

On the day

Turn up on time, do what the listing described, and message through the app if anything changes. Do not agree to extra tasks that were not in the listing, and never accept cash.

Getting paid

The money for the job is held securely before you start, so it is already set aside. Once the job is marked complete it is released into your parent-linked account. There is a short waiting period before it can be moved to a bank account, which protects both sides if there is a disagreement.

Build from there

Every completed job adds to your work record and your reviews. That record is yours, and it is the kind of thing you can point to later when you apply for anything else.
